You may not have considered it, but the car you drive says a lot about your personality. Most people will make an instant, snap judgement about you based on your car. A lot of men already know this and choose the car solely on what it says about them. Some use a car to express or exaggerate a certain character or personality trait. This goes way beyond the make and model of the car. The interior, the cleanliness and the condition of the car also says a lot about you as a person.
You may not intentionally pick a car based on your personality. It is often a subconscious thing. However, these assumptions are scarily accurate. Women often say they can tell a lot about a man by his shoes. Well, the car is no difference. A car is a very personal choice and that shines through. Let’s look at some of the most obvious examples.

You’re a businessman and your car is a company car. It’s likely to be an Autohouse Audi, a Mercedes or a Volkswagen. German made cars scream reliability and endurance. You love the safety and security that comes with your German-made company car. Likewise, you like the security of your job and take calculated risks. You’re good with money and have a logical, reasoned mind.
Luxury car or sports car
You’re an extrovert and love the attention. You are successful and proud of that. You are driven, ambitious and dedicated. You love the finer things in life. The car costs a fortune so you’re probably a risk taker who is spontaneous and impulsive. That helped you get where you are in life and you like to show that off. You’re also a car obsessive. You love the power, the noise and every curve and detail.
A hatchback tells people that you have more important things to worry about than a car. You need a dependable little motor to get you from A to B. You are passionate and driven but not necessarily by a career or money. You may be conscious of the environment and want a low fuel economy around the town. You are busy and haven’t got time to worry about things like the intricacies of a car. There is, however, a certain type of hatchback that hides a luxury car owner in waiting. A Golf GTI or other fuel injected hatchback is a sure sign of a petrol head on a budget.
People carriers and SUVs
You’re a family man with children. You’re interested in legroom and boot space because you’ve got an army of kids and a dog! A single man would never buy a people carrier, for example. The type of SUV says a lot about you too. The compact, city SUV is sure sign of a family man. However, a battered SUV or truck suggests an adventurer or labourer. You love the outdoors, mud and hard work.
Did we get close? More often than not, your car tells people everything they need to know about you. Whether it’s a conscious decision or not, we’re all judging each other based on our cars. What is your car saying about you?
