The time is almost upon us when many people head east into Europe for their summer vacation from here in the United Kingdom. The most common thing people forget to pack is their medication. Even though they may have used it on the morning before setting off, it is automatically  put it back in the medicine cupboard without a second thought.

Remember to pack:

  • Pills
  • Ointments
  • Inhalers
  • Injections

And anything else you need to use on a regular basis. Medicines will be allowed in hand luggage if you are flying, but a doctor’s certificate will be required to carry hypodermic needles, in the case of diabetics, for example.

The choice of clothing is dictated by the places you are to visit. If you intend to head off into the Swiss Alps, then it is only logical that you pack very warm clothes and heavy coats. This takes up a lot of room, however, and many people choose to buy this clothing while they are visiting over there to save carrying it. If you intend to hit the ski slopes, thermal underwear doesn’t take up a lot of room in your bags, so you may consider this.

If some of the happening cosmopolitan cities are on your itinerary, then stylish, top quality clothing will be needed. Men’s luxury leather items never go out of style, and they will stand the test of time when fashions change.

A high quality suit is bound to come in useful as you attend evening functions, and maybe rub shoulders with the rich and famous. Tailored suits stand out from the off the shelf variety, and even those who are not educated in style can tell the difference. A sharp dressed man stands out from the crowd; there is even a song about it.

Everyone loves shoes, but they are a nightmare to pack because there are so many styles, materials, and colours. You probably have a wardrobe full at home, but you can’t take them all. What do you do? Well the best way is to accept the fact that you will need to spend money in whatever country you visit, and buy appropriate footwear. Only pack a couple of comfortable pairs of shoes to take with you. It will drive you insane if you try to cater for every occasion that you may encounter out there.

Don’t forget your toothbrush and any other products that you need for personal grooming. People with delicate or dry skin may need special treatments after a bath or shower, that may not be readily available in shops on the continent. Little things like this can make or break a holiday as the affect your personal comfort. If you do not feel good, it will affect your experience.
