Grab a Gym Buddy
Gym buddies not only help you feel as though you’re not alone in your efforts to better yourself, but they also increase accountability. It’s likely you’ll feel more driven to show up for your workout if you’re meeting someone there rather than just showing up by yourself.
Put Your Gym Clothes On
Getting yourself in the mood to do work at the gym might merely require that you just put the right clothes on. Many guys associate going to the gym with being a hassle due to having to get dressed and actually go there. Cut down on half the mental flack by just getting dressed!
Keep a Motivational Photo Around
If your dream of getting into shape isn’t enough to motivate you to go to the gym, be sure to keep a photo of your starting point around to frequently look to. It might be a recent photo, or one that shows just how far you’ve come from the beginning. Either way, keep something around to look to in times of doubt.
Keep Your Workout Fresh
Additionally, it’s a good idea to add a bit of variety to your workout. If you find yourself hitting the same machines in the same, old order every time you visit the gym, it’s likely you’ll burn out soon. Mix up your exercises and reps, and opt to go at different times throughout the day.
Create a New Workout Playlist
Lastly, wipe out your old workout playlist and make an entirely new one. Half the fun in working out is absorbing the motivational tunes, isn’t it? Load the new playlist up with songs you’ve been wanting to work out with for some time. Once you have a lengthy list made, you should feel motivated enough to resurface!
