How To Become More Confident With Women

Not every man is born with an innate sense of confidence and charm. Some men are naturally extroverted and have no trouble at all with the ladies- others need a little more practice. If you’re struggling to overcome your shyness when it comes to meeting women, try out these confidence-building tips.

Avoid The Booze

Many of us try to overcome a feeling of discomfort in social situations by pouring a few drinks. This is certainly understandable- a little Dutch Courage can go a long way in some scenarios, but it’s a risky move that can easily backfire. Approaching a woman with slurred speech and bad breath will do you no favors, so keep a clear head if you want to make a decent first impression.

Practice Makes Perfect

Jumping in the deep end may be a good approach if you’re extremely nervous around women. Instead of spending your evening fixated on one good looking girl, agonizing over whether or not to approach her, talk to as many women as possible and don’t over-think the interaction. The more times you approach a woman and open your mouth, the easier it will become. Try not to be fussy- see it as practice.

Get In The Right Environment

Your environment can make a major impact on your confidence levels, so try to choose places you’re comfortable with when planning a night out. If a particular bar makes you feel intimidated and awkward, skip it altogether and head to the place you’ve been to a thousand times before. If you feel more at home, you’ll automatically act more self-assured.

Lose The Fear Of Rejection

Most men who lack confidence avoid interactions with women because of one basic fear: rejection. Try to take the edge off of this fear by seeing that outcome as less of a huge deal. What’s the worst that can happen? She’ll say no and you’ll walk away. It’s not a disaster, so don’t be afraid of it. If rejection does occur, brush your ego off and move on to the next prospective date.

Ask For Support

If you have a lot of anxiety around meeting and talking to women, ask your friends for some extra support. They’ll probably be more than happy to give you that extra push in social situations, or to introduce you to women they think you might like. Ask for help if you need it.
