Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
Priced at $250,000, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta features a 6.3 liter V12 engine. The Italian-made Berlinetta is capable of going from 0 MPH to 60 MPH in 3.1 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 211 miles per hour.
In designing the Berlinetta, Ferrari improved the car’s gas mileage and cut its emissions rate by 30%. These improvements make the Berlinetta one of the leaders in fuel emissions and gas mileage in the super car category.
Aston Martin V12 Zagato
Since it’s unveiling in 2011, the Aston Martin V12 Zagato has been awarded a number of unique awards designated for vehicles in the prototype category. The V12 Zagato, which has a list price of $400,000, tops out at 190 miles per hour.
The vehicle’s interior is distinguished by a rear vision camera, internal tire pressure monitors, heated mirrors and seats, and a console finished with a high-quality carbon fiber plating.
Where the Zagato really sets itself apart from other vehicles in the super car category, though, is its unique manufacturing process. Like other high-end Aston Martin concept cars, the Zagato is handmade so that the company can better monitor the vehicle’s quality. In fact, each Zagato requires over 200,000 hours of combined manpower to build.
Mercedes SL 63 AMG
Over the years, Mercedes has used their SL 63 line to explore the possibilities of lightweight luxury car making. The $120,000 AMG has a frame made completely from lightweight aluminum. Besides being eco-friendly, this aluminum frame cuts down on the car’s overall weight dramatically. The car’s aluminum construction allows it to reach speeds of up to 155 miles per hour, despite the fact that it only has a V8 engine.
