8 Holiday Essentials for Men

If you’re going on holiday this year, you might be thinking about packing and getting your essentials ready in advance in order to prepare yourself. However, men often miss the most basic of items, especially if they’re packing for themselves and haven’t asked their mum/girlfriend to do it for them. In this post, you’ll see the 8 essentials that no man should go on holiday without, especially if you want any female attention at all. Read on to get your holiday packing spot on:

1. Flip Flops/Sandals

Flip flops or sandals are holiday essentials as they help to keep your feet cool during the day, and are much more suitable attire than trainers and socks. Imagine how sweaty and smelly your feet would get throughout the day wearing stuffy shoes? It won’t be nice for anybody in the vicinity.

2. A High Factor Sun Screen

Some men choose not to take any sun screen at all, but sun damage is no laughing matter. Not only can you get unsightly red marks on your arms, legs, and face, you can also feel very sore and uncomfortable for the rest of your holiday. Make sure you take a high factor sunscreen to avoid premature ageing, sunspots, wrinkles, and burning.

3. Mosquito Spray

Taking a mosquito spray shouldn’t be thought of as ‘wimping out’. Itchy bites all over your body won’t be fun, and at times it’ll be difficult to concentrate on anything else! Spray it on regularly to keep those blood suckers away.

4. A Light Aftershave

There’s nothing worse than being in a hot country, only to be suffocated with the smell of a strong aftershave. For summer, aftershave should be light and airy – definitely not too overpowering. This will either attract the ladies or repel them…you choose.

5. An Interchangeable Capsule Wardrobe

Don’t just throw your clothes into the suitcase without thinking. You don’t have to take loads of items, but the items you do take should be interchangeable so you can create a variety of great looking outfits. T-shirts, polo tops, shorts, 3 quarters, and perhaps some light shirts and jeans for going out should do the trick. You can even find a great Farah Vintage shirt for summer here.

6. Swimming Trunks

NOT Speedos. Sure, Speedos have their benefits…they can help you to swim faster. However, they don’t look all that amazing, so unless you’re on holiday for a swimming tournament then make sure you go for swimming trunks.

7. A Hat

Burnt scalps aren’t attractive or comfortable. Make sure you take a hat with you, whether it’s a plain baseball cap, a snapback, or bucket hat. This will protect your scalp and face from the harsh sun while you’re out.

8. Sunglasses

Squinting isn’t a great look, and it can cause premature wrinkling. Do you want to spend your holiday virtually blind from the bright sun, or enjoying your time away with great vision? It’s a no brainer really – get yourself a pair of decent sunglasses that protect your eyes from the sun’s rays.

That’s it guys, pack the above essentials and you’ll have a great holiday!
