Is there anything better than the great outdoors? Our gardens might not provide the same level of manliness as a trekking it through the forest. Nonetheless, it is an area of the home that can be transformed into your new favourite part.
Changes to the garden are easy to implement, and even easier to maintain. This makes the perfect location for enjoying manly activities. Here’s an easy guide to making yours a social hub throughout the summer months and beyond.
Let’s Get Cooking
When it comes to man cooking, there’s only one option. BBQ!
Is there anything more manly then cooking up a banquet of meat over some hot coals? We don’t think so. No man’s garden is complete without a decent barbecue. It won’t just create great food, it gives your mates a reason to visit for a lads’ afternoon of beer, burgers, and ball games.
If you need an excuse to get out in the garden this summer, then this is it. Put another shrimp on the barbie!
Get A Shed
Every man wants a man cave. Sadly, not every home (or girlfriend) is willing to accommodate. If you can’t build your own personal space inside, then taking it outside is always an option.
High-quality barns are a great alternative to the indoors man cave. In fact, we’d argue that they make an even better option. There’s no need to worry about waking the kids up with your video games or table tennis matches. It is the perfect venue for you and your mates to chill out in the evenings.
On hot days, you can even sunbathe outside the mancave while storing some cold beers inside. Perfect.
It’s hard to explain why, but we all love a good gadget. Whether it’s the latest smartphone Apps, or the coolest piece of tech for our motors, we just can’t get enough.
The garden is another area where you can inject a bit of technology to make life easier. Let’s be honest, we can think of a lot of things we’d rather do than cut the grass. Get a Flymo to do the job for you. It’s not just practical; it’s pretty darn cool too.
There are plenty of other uses for technology in the garden. If it can make life easier for you, then use it.
If you had a dollar for every time you head “don’t play ball games in the house” as a child (OK, and adult) then you’d be a millionaire by now. However, there’s nothing stopping you from playing sports in the garden. It’s manly. It’s good exercise. And it’s fun!
The type of sport you wish to play is down to you. If your garden is small, then a simple swing ball set will at least provide some source of entertainment. Alternatively, you could nail a basketball hoop to the outside wall and use that as your manly entertainment.
If you’ve got enough space to accommodate a small-sided team sport, then that’s a bonus too.
